On Thursday 6 November, Sandy Wilkinson was officially declared elected to the position of Councillor for the West Norwood/Kent Town Ward in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters, following the supplementary election held in October 2025.
“On behalf of the Council, I warmly welcome Sandy Wilkinson as a new Elected Member representing the West Norwood/Kent Town Ward,” said Mayor Robert Bria.
“Sandy brings extensive experience in local government and a deep understanding of urban planning, heritage and design. I look forward to the valuable contribution he will make to our City over the coming months.”
Mr Wilkinson, a former Adelaide City Councillor (2007–2018), is recognised for his longstanding advocacy for high-quality development and the protection of Adelaide’s built heritage.
With degrees in both Planning and Architecture and a small design practice based in Norwood, he brings a wealth of professional insight to his new role.
As President of Community Alliance SA, Sandy has consistently championed thoughtful urban design and the preservation of historic character buildings, values he also lives by.
He and his family reside in a restored Local Heritage home on Osmond Terrace, which they saved from demolition and sympathetically redeveloped.
“I am passionate about ensuring that our City acts to protect the historic character houses that define Norwood, most of which remain largely unprotected,” Mr Wilkinson said.
“I look forward to working with the community and contributing to the ongoing success of the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters.”
Welcome to the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters.
