Shaping the future of our Libraries: We want to hear from you!

The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters is undertaking a review of our library resources and services and calling on all residents—whether you are a daily visitor or have never stepped foot inside—to help shape the future of our three local libraries.

Our libraries in Norwood, St Peters and Felixstow are already among the Council’s most-loved services, but we want to ensure they continue to meet the changing needs of our community.

This review is not just about books; it is about how our libraries can better support well-being, social connection, and lifelong learning for everyone.

We want to hear your voice—especially if you don’t use the library!

If you haven't visited us in a while, or even at all, your feedback is particularly valuable. We want to understand the barriers that might be keeping you away—whether it's our opening hours, the types of programs we offer, or simply not knowing what is available.

The modern library is evolving, and we are looking at everything from advanced digital technology (like AI, 3D printing, and podcasting equipment) to creating community hubs with dynamic spaces.

How to get involved

Tell us what matters most by completing our survey or joining one of our upcoming community workshops.

Have your say by 25 August 2026. 

• Online survey: Complete the quick online survey 
• Hard copy survey: Download from our website or pick one up at any of our three libraries or the Norwood Town Hall.
• In-person workshops: Join a facilitated 60-minute discussion to share your ideas. Registrations are essential.

• Community Workshop 1 – Monday 3 August, 10.30am, St Peters Town Hall Complex Meeting room 1
• Community Workshop 2 – Thursday 6 August, 2.00pm, Payneham Library 
• Community Workshop 3 – Wednesday 12 August, 6.30pm, Norwood Library

What happens next?

The feedback we receive will be analysed by independent consultants, Strategic Solutions Co., and will help form a strategic review of our library services.

A final report will be presented to the Council in October 2026, with the results published on our website for the community to see.
