Don’t forget to register your four-legged friend this August

20/08/2026

Our pets are important members of the family and keeping their registration and contact details up to date helps ensure they can be returned home quickly if they ever become lost.

Dog registrations

If you own a dog and live in our City, your registration renewal notice will be sent via your preferred contact method each year in early July with annual payment due by 31 August.

To avoid duplicate records being created, please wait until you receive your renewal notice before logging in to Dogs and Cats Online (DACO)

Cat owners, don't miss out

Did you know your cat's details can also be recorded in Dogs and Cats Online (DACO)?

Unlike dog registrations, cat owners do not receive renewal notices. While no registration fee is charged for cats in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters, owners are encouraged to keep their details up to date in DACO.

Keeping these details current can make it much easier to reunite lost cats with their families.

Supporting responsible pet ownership

Looking after our pets goes beyond registration. Responsible pet ownership helps create a safe, healthy and pet-friendly community for everyone.

For information about pet registrations, caring for your dog or cat, and your responsibilities as a pet owner, visit the Council website: www.npsp.sa.gov/dogsandcats

You can manage your pet's details through Dogs and Cats Online (DACO)
