Banish the Winter Blues at this Epic Warehouse Party
20/07/2022
Lambrook Wines has developed a reputation for throwing some seriously memorable parties in their giant warehouse at 2-20 Magill Road, and the upcoming (Ware)house Party promises to be their biggest yet. For one night only, they’re gathering some of Adelaide’s finest musicians and teaming up with local businesses for an epic night of music, food and wine.
You won’t find bottles of Lambrook in big chain stores because they prefer to sell to independent bottle shops like Parade Cellars, and they follow a similar locals-first when it comes to running events. “Everyone involved in this event has been doing it tough over the last few years,” says co-owner Adam Lampit. “When venues closed, musicians were literally begging for gigs and Sam at Fine & Fettle runs a catering business, so everyone has had a pretty ordinary time. This event is a chance to get all of the businesses together and support local artists.”
Brad Lee will kick off the night with a set of raw, soulful covers, followed by local muso Ben Vidic before Zkye and Damo take over the stage. “We’ve had them here before and they’re super talented,” Lampit enthuses. “She’s got a strong, husky voice and really gets people up and dancing.” And with a plan to install insulation that will improve the sound quality inside and soundproof the venue, Lampit promises that there’ll be plenty more gigs to come.
The (Ware)house Party will also provide a chance to try Lambrook’s range of elegant Adelaide Hills wine, including their latest release. Named after (and inspired by) the colourful mural that covers one entire wall, the Stellar syrah is “not like any of the other wines that we make; it’s a bit cooler, it’s a bit funkier and really reflects the artwork.”
As well as music and wine, Red Hen will be serving their craft spirits from the container bar and Sam Worrall-Thompson from nearby Fine & Fettle will keep everyone fed with canapés that are included in the $50 ticket price. For two hours, guests can enjoy a parade of culinary delights including crispy karaage chicken, juicy prawn dumplings in yellow curry sauce, shredded duck salad, flavour-packed wagyu katsu sandos and fried squid with ginger caramel (with gluten-free and vegan options also available).
Though the warehouse can hold up to 200 people, Lampit has limited ticket sales to 130, “so that we can provide really good service and make sure it’s a safe environment… We want people to come along, have some amazing food and a dance, knowing that most of the money is staying right here in Norwood Payneham & St Peters.”
