Treat Yourself To A New Wardrobe – For Free – at This Year’s A Day of Fashion

28/09/2023

With flowering jasmine and green shoots everywhere you look, spring is all about celebrating new beginnings. It means there’s no better time to update your wardrobe, and A Day of Fashion on The Parade provides all the inspiration you could possibly need – plus an opportunity to clean out your wardrobe and give yourself a range of great new looks without spending a cent.

On Saturday October 14, the entire Parade precinct will be abuzz with activity as retailers all along Adelaide’s most celebrated fashion strip offer a huge variety of special discounts and instore events to make this the most special Day of Fashion yet. Keep an eye on the latest offers here, with the full range to be released on Wednesday 11 October.

And if you’re searching for a fresh new look, the Norwood Clothes Swap is a celebration of circular fashion that lets you refresh your wardrobe sustainably without blowing your budget. Everyone who attends can bring in up to ten pre-loved garments and accessories (just make sure they’re clean and in good condition), then browse the racks and swap them for something entirely new.

There will be hundreds of items on display at Norwood Concert Hall over the course of the day – so many, in fact, that the event is being broken into two huge swap meets. The morning session begins with a check-in where you can have your items sorted from 9.30am to 10.15am, then you’ll receive tokens to exchange for new items when the floor opens at 10.30am. After a short break, the afternoon session begins with a check-in from 1.00pm to 1.45pm before the swap goes live at 2:00pm. Any items that are left over at the end will be donated to local op shops to avoid creating waste. And best of all, the entire event is completely free – just be sure to register in advance to make sure you can participate.
