Boutique Mon Ami – local fashion on the international stage

Lovers of fashion in Europe, Singapore, New Zealand, United States and Canada have their pick of stylists from all over the world, but they choose Boutique Mon Ami in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters for their retail therapy.

This family business, a two times Eastside Business Fashion Award winner, has built a strong and loyal customer base spanning the globe.

Mon Ami has a long and proud history within the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters. 

Founded in 1974 and moving to Glynde in 1988 the boutique has been in the Council area ever since, in a variety of locations including Marden and Norwood, before settling in its flagship store at 121 Glynburn Road, Glynde.

Co-owners Christine Fazzini and Josie Cirocco describe the business as a family affair and enjoy working together so much that they even call each other “sisters”.

It was in fact Christine’s mother, Maria Cirocco, who opened the original business in 1974.

Josie and Christine say that while the fashion and styles have changed countless times over the years, the personal service and attention to detail has remained. 

“People come here for a purpose. They come here because they need or want something and we provide a great experience for them,” Christine says.

“From glamorous evening wear to mother-of-the-bride, to eye-catching and comfortable smart casual, the choices are endless,” Josie added.

Both ladies agree that expanding to online shopping through the Mon Ami website and social media has been an absolute game changer and enabled them to tap into international markets.

“We have a lot of word of mouth (clientele), and we still do have second and third generation customers,” Christine says.

“Our online and social media channels give our international customers an advantage because our range is a year in advance.”

“Our seasons fall differently so Australia gets it first.  We are setting the trend for the upcoming season!” Christine added with a cheeky laugh.

They also can’t speak highly enough about their amazing team of stylists, always ready to help find the perfect look for any occasion.
