AFL Gather Round returns to Norwood in 2025

The 2025 AFL Gather Round will return to Norwood for a third consecutive year, with two afternoon games at the iconic Norwood Oval. On Saturday 12 April, reigning premiers Brisbane will face the Western Bulldogs, followed by GWS taking on St Kilda on Sunday 13 April.

Mayor Robert Bria expressed his excitement about hosting the event again, saying, “Gather Round is an amazing time for The Parade and our City more generally, bringing tourists from around the country to South Australia’s premier Mainstreet.”

The 2024 Gather Round event provided a significant boost to the local economy, generating $6.6 million in city-wide dining and hospitality spending, up from $4.45 million in 2023. Of this total, $5.7 million came from visitors outside the Council area.

This announcement caps off a successful year for Norwood, recently named one of the “38 coolest neighbourhoods in the world” by Time Out magazine

With a combination of world-class footy, delicious food, and lively local festivities, the 2025 Gather Round promises to be another unforgettable event.
