The St Peters Heroes Memorial, located on St Peters Street, is part of the ANZAC Avenue of Honour, dedicated by the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters in 2014. The memorial commemorates local men who served in the world wars.
In 2019, the St Peters Residents Association secured a grant to install two plaques listing the names of 145 men from the former Town of St Peters who died in World War I.
On 11 November 2024, an additional plaque was unveiled to commemorate 89 men who died as a result of their service in World War II. The unveiling ceremony was led by Her Excellency, the Hon Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia.
The St Peters Heroes Memorial was originally unveiled on 22 February 1922 by Sir Archibald Weigall, in recognition of the service and sacrifice of the men of St Peters.
This recent addition was made possible through the research and dedication of Mr David Cree, President of the St Peters Residents Association and members of the Association, with support from the South Australian Government’s ANZAC Day Commemoration Fund.
The ceremony was attended by a number of descendants of those commemorated.
