Expressions of Interest – Independent Audit & Risk Committee Members

The Council’s Audit & Risk Committee operates in accordance with Section 126 of the Local Government Act 1999.

The Council is seeking Expressions of Interest for the appointment of 3 Independent Members to the Audit & Risk Committee, one of whom will also be appointed as the Chair of the Committee.  The term of the appointments will be as determined by the Council but will likely be for a 3-year period.

Overall, the Committee must have the skills, knowledge, and experience relevant to the functions of the Audit & Risk Committee, including in financial management, risk management and governance. Therefore, interested candidates should possess qualifications, skills, and/or experience in one or more of those areas.

Whilst not mandatory, preference will be given to candidates who possess a sound knowledge of the operations of Local Government.

The Committee meets quarterly, and Independent Members are entitled to receive $450 per meeting attended with the Chair receiving $650 per meeting attended.
