Temporary Traffic Control Device Notice - AFL Gather Round

Please be aware of the 2025 AFL Gather Round traffic controls in place throughout Norwood. Thank you for your concideration.

I, Christopher Drew Holland, Senior Sergeant First Class of Police, for, and on behalf
of the Commissioner of Police, exercise the authority delegated by the Minister for
Transport under Section 11 Road Traffic Act, and make the following order under
Section 33 of the Act.

I declare that the ‘2025 AFL Gather Round including associated events Rivals
Long Lunch and Norwood Food and Wine Festival’ is an event to which this section
applies and that the following roads be closed to traffic between the listed times and
dates:

Within the City of Norwood Payneham and St Peters council areas: -

• Woods Street, Norwood between The Parade and Beulah Road
(Local Traffic and Authorised Vehicles Only excepted under direction)
Between 7.00am and 7.00pm on Thursday 10 April 2025 and Friday 11
April 2025.
Between 7.00am and 10.00pm on Saturday 12 April 2025.
Between 7.00am and 9.00pm on Sunday 13 April 2025.
Between 7.00am and midday on Monday 14 April 2025.

• The Parade, Norwood between Osmond Terrace and Portrush Road
• Margaret Street, Norwood between The Parade and William Street
(Local traffic only)
Between 7.00pm on Friday 11 April 2025 and 6.30am on Monday 14 April
2025.

• Osmond Terrace, Norwood between U-Turn Lane (adjacent to Orange Lane)
to the slip lane (adjacent to Norwood Primary School) - Northbound lane only.
Between 2.00am and 8.00pm on Saturday 12 April 2025.

• The Parade, Norwood between Sydenham Road and Osmond Terrace
Between 1.00pm and 8.00pm on Saturday 12 April 2025.

• The Parade, Norwood between Sydenham Road and Osmond Terrace
(including Osmond Terrace intersection)
Between 10.00am and 10.30pm on Sunday 13 April 2025.

I direct that persons taking part in the ‘2025 AFL Gather Round including associated
events Rivals Long Lunch and Norwood Food and Wine Festival’ on the above
roads be exempted from all Australian Road Rules relating to pedestrian behaviour on
roads. I further direct that local residents on Margaret Street are exempt from
Australian Road Rule 100 and all Part Eleven Australian Road Rules, Divisions 2, 3,
and 4, relating to vehicle position on a road. Emergency Services vehicles, Metro ticket
buses and authorised vehicles are exempt from closures as outlined at traffic guidance
schemes.

I also hereby authorise Altus Traffic Management or its agents and contractors to
install and remove, or cause the installation and removal of necessary and appropriate
traffic control devices for the conduct of this event.

I direct that the installation and removal of necessary and appropriate traffic control
devices for the conduct of this event can only be performed by a person with work zone
traffic management training.

All works to be undertaken must be done so in accordance with the "SA Standards
for Workzone Traffic Management" (which calls up the Austroads Guide to
Temporary Traffic Management and AS1742.3).
