Third time’s a charm: a new Legend celebrated

01/05/2025

After securing its place on The Parade, Norwood in 2017, Pavé Cafe has matured into a favourite of locals and visitors alike.

From early morning coffee to a light brunch and delectable lunches, Rimu Good has built a thriving business and a connected community — all from a humble cobblestone courtyard café that was formerly a car park.

“To us, ‘hospitality’ is about connecting with the community around us.

We have always strived to provide good service, good food and good coffee,” says Rimu.

“We get to know the people who have supported us, some of our customers we see more than our family!”

Rimu’s commitment to his three pillars of running a successful hospitality business — good food, quality ingredients and great service — have won him a loyal client base and a host of accolades.

Pavé has been a regular finalist in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters’ prestigious Eastside Business Awards and has won a grand total of six awards since 2020.

The annual awards program recognises and celebrates exceptional small businesses in the City, as voted by the public.

“The current climate for small business is more challenging than ever, which is why awards such as the Eastside Business Awards are a brilliant way to showcase the quality of businesses that are unique to our area.

“It’s a fantastic way to make connections with your customer base (who obviously vote!) and a way to grow your business locally by being recognised as a finalist or winner.”

Last night, Pavé was among 19 local businesses recognised through the Eastside Business Awards for their outstanding contributions.

On Pavé’s win in the Best Café/Restaurant and Best Coffee categories, Rimu says, “It shows that the service we strive to provide to our patrons is at a consistently high level”.

“Their votes and desire to see us recognised for our hard work means the world to the whole Pavé team.”

Now a three-time winner in the Best Café / Restaurant and Best Coffee award categories, Pavé has been cemented as a local favourite and as such, was crowned a Legend at last nights Awards ceremony.

Pavé now joins the glittering ranks of previous Legend Award recipients, Cheeky Grin Coffee, Little Bang Brewery Co, Mary MacKillop Museum and Shouz Boutique.

“The exposure and local media attention as a result of the awards, spikes interest from people who might not know a lot about the business.

This in turn brings in new customers and new opportunities to further grow our community”.

All winners of 2025 Eastside Business Awards were presented with their awards by Mayor Robert Bria at a ceremony on Wednesday 30 April.
