Looking for a fun, friendly and low-impact way to boost your health and meet new people? Our Come and Try programs are designed specifically for people over 50 who want to stay active, have fun and connect with others in the community.

These classes aren’t just about fitness—they’re about building a stronger, more connected community.

Programs like Dance for Fitness and Boxfit offer inclusive, welcoming spaces where older adults can stay active, reduce isolation, and maintain their independence.

They foster friendships, boost mental wellbeing, and encourage lifelong learning, helping create a vibrant, supportive local community where everyone feels they belong.

With two exciting classes to choose from—Dance for Fitness and Boxfit—there’s something for everyone, no matter your experience or fitness level.

Dance for Fitness

Dance your way to better health with this energising Latin-inspired cardio class!

Dance for Fitness is a fun, low-impact workout that uses upbeat music and easy-to-follow moves to get your heart pumping and your body moving.

Expect a mix of fast and slow routines using interval training to build aerobic and anaerobic fitness.

Move to the rhythm of salsa, reggaeton, cumbia, calypso—and even a little hip-hop—as you shake off stress and boost your energy.

It’s a full body workout that improves muscle tone, heart health and coordination.

Fridays, 6 June – 25 July 2025, 11am – 12pm

Cost: $56 for 8 classes or $7 per class

Boxfit

Want to improve your strength, balance and coordination—all while having fun?

Boxfit is a low-impact, mindful movement class that blends physical activity with mental focus.

You’ll learn basic boxing techniques in a safe and supportive environment, while also boosting your memory and energy levels.

Through guided instruction, you’ll develop skills like:

  • how to safely hold focus pads and boxing gloves
  • proper stance and footwork
  • punching techniques: jab, cross, uppercut and hook
  • defensive moves: slip and duck, and
  • sequenced combinations to challenge your brain and body.

This class is perfect for those looking to try something new, gain confidence and enjoy the benefits of movement without high-impact strain on joints.

Tuesdays, 24 June – 29 July 2025, 10.30am – 11.45am
