Discover art around every corner this August at SALA 2025

15/07/2025

The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters is once again transforming into a vibrant canvas of creativity for the 2025 South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival.

As Australia’s largest visual arts festival, SALA is a proud celebration of South Australia’s richly diverse arts community—bringing together emerging talents, established names and passionate art-lovers of all kinds.

This August, more than 40 exhibitions and events will pop up in cafes, shops, galleries and schools throughout the City.

Whether you're an art enthusiast or just curious to explore something new, there's something to discover around every corner.

From bold installations to delicate paintings, these creative showcases offer the perfect opportunity to experience visual art where you live, work and play.

At the heart of our program is The Gallery at St Peters Town Hall, which will host four major exhibitions.

Retrospective by acclaimed artist Sue Michael takes viewers on a deeply personal journey through her evolving career—highlighting a lifetime of capturing the subtleties of everyday South Australian life.

In the same space, emerging artists Eliana Della Flora and Katherine Shierlaw present Perceive, a striking display of glass sculptures exploring duality, perception and the physical poetry of the material.

In Gallery 2, Alice Hu’s Conversation: Muse and Dream invites visitors to consider cultural identity and hybridity through the concept of Liúbái—a visual silence that offers space for reflection.

At the same time, the EHA Gallery hosts Sara Boni’s In Motion, an introspective and healing exploration of our connection to the natural world through vibrant, movement-infused portraits.

Beyond the walls of The Gallery, Art on Parade returns to The Parade, Norwood, pairing local artists with retail and commercial venues to create a curated art trail through the City’s busiest strip.

With more than 50 artists across 12 venues, it’s the perfect opportunity to shop, stroll and soak up the creativity at your own pace.

Whether you’re looking for inspiration, a new artwork to take home, or just a reason to get out and explore your neighbourhood, SALA 2025 in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters is a celebration not to be missed.
