Major public artwork for Osmond Terrace

04/08/2025
At its meeting held on 3 February 2025, the Council selected Osmond Terrace as the site for its fifth Quadrennial Public Artwork Commission.
Mayor Robert Bria says the Council is excited to continue this important public art initiative.
“Public artwork is highly valued by our community because it adds to the strong sense of place the Council is committed to creating for our residents.
“We have a strong and vibrant arts community in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters and the continuation of this major public art program sends a strong message to our arts community that we are putting our money where our mouth is.”
Since February, the first stage of concept design has been undertaken, which saw 42 submissions from local artists and across Australia.
A selection panel shortlisted three artists and artistic teams to further develop their site-specific concepts, which are now being evaluated.
The successful artwork will be commissioned in the coming months and it is anticipated that the selected work will be unveiled by August 2026 at which time it will join the Council’s four previous Quadrennial Public Artworks:
- Seed Mix (Hackney, 2022) pictured
- Perpetual Sun (Stepney, 2018)
- Fallow (St Peters, 2014)
- Spectrum (Norwood, 2010).
A project page will be developed with more information in the coming months. watch this space.
