Long-term resident Rita Excell has been elected and officially sworn in to represent the St Peters Ward in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters.

“On behalf of the Council, I warmly welcome Rita Excell as a new Elected Member representing St Peters Ward,” says Mayor Robert Bria.

“Rita recorded a decisive victory in a hotly contested supplementary election, and I look forward to her valuable contribution to our City over the next 13 months.”

A supplementary election was held following Claire Clutterham’s successful campaign in the 2025 Federal Election, when she was elected as the Federal Member for Sturt.

At her swearing in ceremony on Thursday 2 October, Cr Excell shared her commitment to working closely with the community to shape the future of our City.

“I am looking forward to contributing to the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters and representing the community of the St Peters Ward.

“I am a strong advocate for higher standards of maintenance of our existing assets and preserving the heritage and character of our neighbourhoods.”
