Have your say! Richmond Street Bikeway and Streetscape Upgrade

20/10/2025
Richmond Street, Hackney is a key east–west corridor in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters and part of both the Council’s strategic cycling network and the State Government’s Bikedirect route.
It provides an important link for cyclists and other active transport users between the eastern suburbs and the Adelaide CBD.
In response to the petition, the Council’s Traffic Management & Road Safety Committee recommended further investigations and concept designs be undertaken with the objective of improving road safety for all road users in Richmond Street, and in particular the amenity and safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
We are seeking community feedback on proposed safety upgrades to Richmond Street, Hackney.
The Council is proposing a range of upgrades aimed at improving safety, slowing vehicle speeds and supporting active transport including:
- shared-use paths
- pedestrian refuges
- Wombat crossing and bike ramps.
Comments must be received no later than 5pm, Monday 10 November.
