From magical snowy scenes and warm Aussie barbecues to festive family celebrations, students hand-drew and digitally created stunning artworks that truly captured the festive spirit.
The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters celebrated the unlimited creativity of local students through the Mayor’s Christmas Card Competition, which invites all Kindergarten to Year 6 students to showcase their artistic talents and share what Christmas means to them.
Mayor Bria, who initiated the competition in 2006, said the standard of entries continues to impress each year.
“The creativity and thought that our young artists put into their designs is always remarkable.
“Each artwork reflects a unique perspective of what Christmas means to our community, from togetherness and kindness to joy and colour.”
Entries were reviewed by Mayor Bria, with first, second and third place prizes awarded for each year level and an overall winner also crowned.
The winning design from each year level has been printed on the official Christmas cards sent out by the Mayor and Council administration to councils, government agencies, schools, community groups and key partners.
The Overall Winner’s artwork will also feature on the cover of the December edition of the Council’s magazine, Look East.
Since its inception, thousands of local children have taken part in the Mayor’s Christmas Card Competition, creating cherished festive memories for families and friends across the City.
With 105 entries and 15 participating schools and kindergartens, this year has been no exception.
And with such a high calibre of designs, Mayor Bria confirmed it was a challenging task to select the winners!
The overall winner of the 2025 Mayor’s Christmas Card Competition is Liana, Year 5, East Adelaide Primary.
