Notice of Works: Playground Upgrades August 2026
02/07/2026
The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters will be undertaking exciting upgrades of playground equipment at three local reserves to enhance play opportunities and create more enjoyable spaces for our community.
These upgrades are designed to improve both the safety and play value of each playground, ensuring they continue to provide welcoming, engaging and accessible places for children and families to enjoy for years to come.
Works are scheduled to commence during August 2026 at the following locations:
- Maurice Clayton Reserve, Augusta St, Maylands
- Stacey Reserve, cnr Bakewell & Elizabeth St, Evandale, and
- Linde Reserve, between Nelson & Stepney St, Stepney.
Works include:
- Replacement of playground equipment
- New edging
- Replacement of softfall mulch.
During construction, the playgrounds will be temporarily closed to ensure the safety of contractors and the public with upgrades expected to be completed by September.
We appreciate your patience and understanding while these important improvements are carried out.
Playgrounds are an important part of creating healthy, connected and vibrant neighbourhoods. They provide opportunities for children to play, explore and develop, while offering families and carers welcoming places to gather, connect and enjoy the outdoors.
The Council is committed to maintaining and enhancing playgrounds across the City, ensuring our open spaces continue to support active lifestyles, foster community connections and provide high-quality recreational opportunities for residents and visitors of all ages.
