We have put together a quick cyber safety guide to help you stay safe whilst online.
Security
Secure your accounts with strong passwords containing letters, numbers and symbols and keep your privacy settings, software and apps updated.
Information
Do not share important personal information online, such as date of birth, address, contact details or bank details.
Think before you click
Never click on links in messages from people you don’t know or links that seem suspicious. Be wary of website pop-ups and ads.
Surf safely
Secure sites can be identified by "https" and a padlock icon to the left or right of the address. Manually type in the website’s address into your browser’s address bar to minimise risk.
Report it
If you encounter cyber-bullying or online scams, then record as much information as you can, including images, and report it straight away. See the back for more.
